Yes to VBS....

Well it has been so busy around the Frakes house with Softball and more Softball. Our oldest Sydnee is on a travel Softball Team and we have been gone almost everyweekend for the last month. It is fun to see all of the different teams but it is horrible with the heat and being out in the Sun all day. You would pay a million dollars for AC somedays.
Anyways VBS is a week away so I am on crunch time to get everything in order and get our church ready for this fun and crazy week. I have so much to do this week.

I am so into the music this year. I have made one of the songs my theme song.. It is called "Live It Out" and it goes alittle something like this.....
Live it out, Shout It out, Show the world what love is about.

And my two daughters love the song "Love You More". Sydnee likes the part about loving Jesus more then a baseball bat and Lily says one line different from the original line of love you more then my dog and cat cause she thought it said I love you more then a yellow Yak.. And I can't help but laugh cause it is so cute...

And of course my little man's favorite VBS Song is "Yes to VBS".. He puts his own little style on it and it is PRICELESS.... We have wore out 3 VBS CD's listening to his favorite song...

Anyways I hope we reach just one child and one family thru this ministry. I pray that everyone will get a blessing from being in or helping with VBS... And last but not least I pray every VBS in the World touches everyone that is involved...

I will do some previews of how I get our church ready decoration wise and maybe show how I make some stuff for this week... God Bless VBS.....

Ducky Baby Shower

Ducky Baby Shower
My friend Kristy is having a precious baby boy so we had a duck theme baby shower for her. It turned out really great. She is a simple kind of gal so we tried to do everything simple, cheap and cute. We did blues, yellows, and whites with duckies all around.
My friend Megan shaped the cheese ball into a duck it was so cute.

I found this cute punch from tidy mom blog.

The cute cupcakes were done by my friend Amy from Amy’s Sweet Treats. She did a great job. She did blue and white frosted white cake mini cupcakes with little candy ducks on the top and the white ones had white sparkly white sugar sprinkles. They were so goooood.. The cupcake stand was a cake stand turned upside down.

Everything turned out great. See you can do a cute shower very inexpensive. For food we did fruit and veggie trays, cheese ball with crackers, mini cupcakes and punch and the little ducky candy on the side in place of the traditional mints. We did it at our church so we borrowed the yellow and white tablecloths and floral centerpiece from there. The glass bowl duck centerpieces were really cheap to make. I got the glass bowls and foam balls from dollar tree and all the duckies were from the dollar store you got 1 big one and 3 little ones in a pack. The ribbon was from a curling ribbon bow we took apart and put all around the tables.
The Cone trees were easy to make also. They are made from shredded paper from the dollar tree and foam cones from Wal-Mart and wooden skewers and the blue pots with foam blocks inside are from dollar tree also. So really inexpensive piece to put all of the cute centerpieces together.  Just use what you have is what I say. Don’t be afraid to raid your mother or mother-in-law supplies also. You never know what you will find that you can use.

Now Kristy did rack up on the gifts. I created a diaper cake for the centerpiece of the gift table. I used one pack of diapers and did 3 levels. We used the yellow shredded paper from the dollar tree and I used blue crepe streamer paper to wrap around the diapers for ribbon effect since I forgot my ribbon at home and couldn’t go get it so I had to use what we had at church. And I used the rest of the ducks we had. I bought 3 packs of the 4 pack duck sets from dollar store and it was enough. And last but not least I had her notebook for everyone to write advice in it and we used it to write down all her gifts too. So what I did for it was bought a cheap small flip top notepad from dollar store I think they were like 3 for a $1.00 and I covered it with cute paper and put some cute baby stickers on the bottom and then cut cute matching ribbon and knobbed them on the spiral wire at the top.  Simple cute and cheap. Love those kinds of combos. If you can see the diaper bag below you will see it is filled up with all kinds of goodies. Kristy’s mom did all of them. She is so talented I can’t remember everything that was in it but she made almost everything in the bag. It was soooo cute… I think I was tired of writing down onesis on her gift list. I think the baby could wear an onesis every day for 5 months she got so many of them..

My lil Man....

Lazarus is so funny. He loves to water the flowers I have on the window sill in the kitchen. Well I am not the best at growing flowers or plants or really anything so I have one flower that LJ brought home from church one wednesday night and it is about dead. But we keep watering it hoping that it will come alive any day now. But no it is probably on it's last leaf. But while he was watering this morning he said. "The flower is dead but I water it Mommy." I was laughing so hard.. That's my lil man. He is such a joy in my life. I don't deserve these great kids but Thank you God for allowing me to be their mom anyway...

Finally a day of rest...

Well it seems we are on slow down mode around here. The last two weeks we have been so busy.
Sydnee had softball spring team practice and games and then travel softball practice
and games almost everyday for the last two weeks.

And she turned 10 on May 22. I still can't believe our oldest is 10 now. My baby is growing up..(excuse me while I wipe the tears).. I took her to Gaylord Opryland Hotel and stayed 1 night for her birthday cause she had a game on her birthday which she didn't mind. She loved it. I will post all about her birthday girl's night later. It was so much fun.. She had a blast... And we both will remember it forever.. I am so luck to be blessed to be her Mother. God blessed me which such great kids..

Lily graduated from Preschool and had her last soccer game.

And LJ is stuck being surrounded by girls all the time. My poor lil man.. He is such a trooper..
He will be surrounded by girls for a long time so he should get use to it...
Well at least he has got a bunch of cupcakes from all the girl's activities..

Well I jut found out we have 2 softball games tonight for my hubby's team.
Well that is life in the Frakes house we live at the ball field.
And we wouldn't have it any other way. We love Softball and Baseball.
Soon we will have 3 kids playing ball. What a time we will have...

Learning to love to clean...

Well I am trying to get into the swing of things. This is so new to me. I am excited but scare at the same time. It's like learning to ride your bike or start school you are so excited but nervous at the same time. You don't want to mess up cause you know if you do it won't be pretty. I have realized I have no idea how I got everything done and worked a full time job. But I am seeing that I didn't get everything done I just put things off...

Here is where I am starting on this journey. I had planned on having 2 weeks while the kids were still in school and at the babysitter that I would get so much done on deep cleaning and organizing the house. Wrong.. Things came up and no go on my plans. They flew out the window. But oh well that is LIFE I am learning. You have tomorrow to start again.

Well I have decided to start small. I am going to start by cleaning one room at a time and then once the house is clean I will start on organizing and decluttering everything. Don't rush take your time. If it's only 15 mins or an hour a day at least you are trying... I am learning that you can't overwhelm yourself if you do it will not get done.

Visit some blogs and get some ideas. Here are a few I am loving right now...

This is from Just a girl blog. This is her laundry room.
I want to run out to dollar tree and buy all kinds of storage baskets and jars right now....

Here is her bathroom cabinet. I am so doing this tomorrow.
I have so much stuff that we don't need under our cabinets.

Well I hope these will inspire you like they inspire me. I am getting things together and I will be posting allot more of the rooms I am getting in order. I feel God is saying to simply to me and I am doing just that.
